DREAM PIANO - CALMING FELT PIANO

Dream Piano is Calm Radio's latest calming piano channel. Felt Piano is a method of dampening that already exists within most upright pianos: When you use the soft pedal on an upright piano, the pedal triggers a mechanism that places a strip of felt between the hammers and the strings to partially mute the instrument's sound. On a grand piano this pedal shifts the whole action slightly to the right, so that the hammers which normally strike all three of the strings for a note strike only one or two of them. Generally notated as 'una corda'. More recently David Klavins developed the Una Corda piano, which only utilizes one string per note.
